Neuroscience Minor Advising inquiries, including but not limited to: declaring a minor, adjustments, course registration, should be sent to Advising@bio.tamu.edu. NRSC 485/491 completed contracts can be sent to Undergrad@tamin.tamu.edu.
The Texas A&M Institute for Neuroscience (TAMIN) encourages undergraduates to participate as research assistants to gain valuable laboratory experience. To do so, students must contact and obtain permission from a TAMIN Faculty of Neuroscience (FNS) member, as well as complete the proper training that is specific to each lab (discussed with the faculty member). NRSC 485/491 courses can only be taken with a member of the Faculty of Neuroscience (FNS).
To obtain Neuroscience directed studies/research credit hours (NRSC 485 and/or NRSC 491), the student and the Faculty of Neuroscience member must complete and have signed the appropriate contract linked below. The completed contract must then be submitted via email to the TAMIN Advising Office, who will then register the student for their directed studies/research credit hours. All NRSC 485/491 contracts need to be submitted via email to undergrad@tamin.tamu.edu in PDF (no other format will be accepted). Contracts are due to the TAMIN Advising Office one week prior to the first day of classes. In addition to a completed NRSC 485/491 contract, students must be in good academic standing and must have successfully applied for the Neuroscience Minor.
