TAMIN Student Symposium – Spring 2023
The 2023 Texas A&M Institute for Neuroscience Student Symposium will be held on May 3 rd, 2023 in the Lobby of the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB). This symposium serves as an opportunity for Texas neuroscience trainees at every level to come together, network, and share their research. Researchers from undergraduate to post-doctoral levels are invited to participate. Please email sfn.tamu@gmail.com with any questions.
Featured Keynote Speaker: Dr. Phillip Popovich
Dr. Phillip Popovich of the Ohio State University College of Medicine will be delivering the
featured presentation entitled: “Microglia are master regulators of intraspinal and systemic
neuro-immune cross-talk after spinal cord injury”
Guidelines & Abstracts
Abstract Submission
Abstracts will be accepted from April 1st , 2023 until April 28th , 2023.

Poster Presentation
Posters will be displayed in the ILSB lobby on 4 ft. x 3 ft. poster boards. Once abstract submission closes, presenters will be given a number and placed in either group A or B.
Oral Presentation
Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows have the option of volunteering to give an oral
presentation. These presentations will take place in the ILSB auditorium and should be 10-12
minutes in length, followed by about 5 minutes of questions.

9:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Poster Session A
10:30 AM – 11:45 AM: Oral Presentations 1-4
11:45 AM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break
1:00 PM – 2:15 PM: Oral Presentations 5-8
2:15 PM – 3:45 PM: Poster Session B
3:45 PM – 5:00 PM: Featured Keynote Presentation
5:00 PM – 5:15 PM: Closing Remarks and Award Presentation
